TECHNOLOGY

The Company's long term effort is to develop the BioPhalanx(tm) Workstation -- the next generation Molecular Diagnostic instrument & consumable.  Biophalanx integrates several ip-protected technologies for nucleic acid extraction, isolation, purification and identification. It is designed to rapidly run samples directly without costly and time consuming transfer steps.

The first technology being developed will be embodied in the Lysix(tm) 808 workstation. This is an automated instrument to co-process multiple samples for the extraction and purification of nucleic acids. Lysix shortens the workflows (extraction, isolation, purification, concentration and elution) into a simple, effective, reliable and inexpensive single step. The need for a rapid and specific diagnostic technology necessitated the invention of a new class of molecular probes called Tentacle Probes(tm).  Tentacle Probe reagents are based on mathematical principles of cooperativity that increases specifity and sensitivity without trading overall accuracy.  See our Tentacle Probes page.

Increasingly laboratories assay gene expression targets using microarrays.  Microarray effectiveness is hampered by the extremely slow hybridization times due to the high surface area of planar chips. Arcxis Biotechnologies has developed a Linear Microarray for ultra-rapid identification of genetic material. These arrays are fabricated to allow for rapid hybridization of nucleic acids in a low volume/high surface environment.
